SNOW MOUNTAIN OR SNOW CONE?

Hey everybuddy!  It's me, Khady Lynn!

As you saw in our last post, I have claimed the snow mountain as MINE!

It's quite the perfect place for a little Princess like me.  I think it totally suits me, don't you?

However, my snow mountain also doubles as a snow cone!  Monty is snacking away right behind me.  I decided to give it a try too.

Mmmmmmm, tasty!

Even Holly wanted to have a snack, and dug in with both paws!

HEY!!! Everybody needs to stop eating my snow mountain!

I'll just have my bossy mom keep everyone away.

She does a great job of yelling at everyone else, so I trust her to watch over me.  After all, I am her baby!

After a long day of sitting on my snow mountain, and eating it like it's a snow cone, there was only one thing left to do.......

Have a great Monday everybuddy!

I'M BAAAAACCKKKK!

HELLOOOOOO!!!! I would like to apologize for being gone for so long. I can only blame it on my extremely lazy human for not allowing me to post anything. While I have been busy relaxing and napping, mom has been busy taking care of Samuel.

You see, Samuel had been having more problems walking, getting around, and was losing weight. For several months mom thought it was just his arthritis getting worse and the vet suggested steroid shots instead of his usual Rimadyl. They helped a little, but not significantly. Then, in November, mom saw him licking his "pawsonal" region and looked to see why he was licking there. Well, she found a lump in his scrotal area. (which is technically not there cuz he has been neutered) He went to the vet and it was removed. Luckily, it was benign. And, for a while, since he was on antibiotics, he seemed to be doing a bit better.

Then, he seemed to get worse, and almost stopped eating all together, and continued to lose weight, and just didn't seem well. So, back to the vet he went, and the vet did an ultrasound and found an extensive mass in his abdomen. The next day he went in for surgery to see if the mass could be removed. Thankfully, it was completely removed. What the vet found was that it appeared that something had punctured through his intestine, and then caused an abscess the size of a softball in his omentum.  The vet looked through the mass to see if she could figure out what caused the perforation, but did not find anything.  She thought it was possible that whatever punctured the intestine might have then gone back into the intestine and passed through.  The only thing mom thought could possibly have caused it was a stick that he had chewed on.  The vet thought it had been there for quite a long time based on what she saw.

So, he is now doing better.  We just need to get some weight on him.  Mom is very thankful, especially since Samuel is almost 15 years old!  She is still very watchful of him, but he is doing so much better than he was!

Now, on to more exciting stuff!

We got a whole bunch of snow a few days ago!!!!  Needless to say, we were all very happy!  Here are some examples for your enjoyment;

Titus and Lena are VERY happy with the fresh snow!

Titus and Lena doing zoomies.

Handsome, goofy, droopy eared Samuel.

Khady, relentlessly trying to chew on Titus.

I spent quite a bit of time taste-testing the new powder!

Little Miss Princess Khady claiming the snow mountain throne.

We are suppose to get even MORE snow this week!  Needless to say, we are all VERY happy with the forecast!

And now, back to my usual routine;

Yes, it's all about the relaxing and napping!  Well, at least for ME it is!

FUN WITH DIGGING

Yes, I know it has been, like, furever since I posted anything.  I am blaming it on the lazy human woman who has to type for me.  But, anyway, I'm back with some fun that I "technically" wasn't involved in.  However, as Queen of this house, it IS my job to snoopervise EVERYTHING!  Including the other furry inhabitants who are being BAD! (or, good if you look at it from a Siberian Husky point of view).

First, guess what mom caught the "foster" boy, Titus, doing?

But, do you think he got in trouble for doing it?  Heck no!  Mom just laughed at him.  I think she knows that scolding him at this point was probably pointless.

Then, dad scooped out a "trench" along the patio so that when the snow finally comes it has a place to drain instead of creating a wading pool on the patio.  Well, since DAD was digging, Titus and Khady decided they would help too. I, of course, made sure Khady was doing a satisfactory job, without actually getting my nice big swappers dirty.  After all, it IS below my Queenly status to do manual labor (or ANY labor for that matter).

So, the patio is now ready for snow, if only we would hurry up and get some!

TWO HEADS

Well, you know what they say......Two heads are better than one!

Titus and I are thinking about how best to spend our time.  Napping, or playing.  No ruling on that yet.

With my momma, Holly, I'm just happy to be with her cuz she takes such great care of me!

Now, back to contemplating that nap.....

NOT REALLY WORDLESS WEDNESDAY

We had a bit of an "accident" here.

No one is talking about who did it.

But, it wasn't me!

MONDAY BUSINESS

Since the new boy, Titus, has come to our house, he has decided he really likes MY couch.

He was trying to be all sweet and nice.  You know, being submissive to his Queen.

I tried yelling to see if that would help get him off my couch.  As you can see.....it didn't.  Khady was really wanting to play with him.  But, I decided.....

To just tell her Pffffftttt!  I think he likes me more!

SUMMER

No, I don't mean the season.  I mean the newest rescue Sibe for Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue

Meet Summer!

Isn't she adorable?!?!   She's only about 9 months old and is a little shy.  Mom went and picked her up yesterday at the exact same shelter where she rescued Dave.  Strange thing is, they look EXACTLY alike, except for the eye color!!!!  Here, see for yourself.

Mom's thinking there is a very bad breeder in that area who is NOT taking care of the Sibes they adopt out.  Cuz, mom is sure they have got to be siblings from different litters!  Grrrrr to that BAD breeder!  If I find out who they are I shall squish them!!!

Anyway, I'm sure she will be up on the website soon, so be sure to check back often!!

FUN WITH TITUS

Hey every buddy!  Khady Lynn here!  We're sure enjoying playing with Titus, just as much as he's enjoying playing with us!  He especially likes the hot tub!

Now, THAT'S fun!!

PLAY TIME

I just know you are all ready for some more Titus!  Here are Khady and I playing with him!

He is such a sweetheart!  For more information, you can click on his name above, or go to the Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue website.  He really deserves a wonderful and loving home that can give him the cuddles and tummy rubs that he loves so much!

WELCOME TITUS

Guess what?  We have a new foster dog from Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue living with us!  One of TBSHR's adoptive families picked him up from North Platte and drove him to Grand Island where mom met them.  They were SO nice to pick him up, and give their own time and gas money to help get him to rescue with us.  His name is Titus.  And, he is quite handsome!! Take a look......

Here he is on the ride to Omaha with mom.  He really liked riding "shotgun" and chillin' in the cold breeze of the a/c!

Here he is meeting me, Samuel and Lena.  We were all trying to say "hello" at the same time!

Then Khady jumped in to greet him!

Here we are in a group session in the yard!  We were all soooo excited to meet him, and, I  must say, us girls were quite smitten with the handsome new boy!

I get to say a private hello to him, because if he doesn't pass the "Holly Test" then he doesn't get to stay. Luckily, I really liked him, so he gets to stay!  After all, not just ANY dog gets to visit MY house!  I am the Queen of my domain, and no one here forgets it!

He soon found that his new foster home was going to be QUITE the comfy place to hang out!

Yep, the comfy doggie bed in the corner and, of course, the couch!!!  I'm feeling quite proud of myself for letting him lounge on MY couch!

Ummmm, yep....he's definitely feeling "at home" here!  Khady and I were making sure he had a proper welcome to our house!

After the long day, he finally decided it was time to relax and just chill out.

I do believe he is going to be quite happy here with us while he waits for his furever home!  And, for those of you who think he will be a "foster failure" and be staying with us, we are at the maximum allowed for Omaha so there is no way we could keep him.  Although, mom wishes that weren't the case!

Welcome Titus, to fine living, lots of love, fun, and yummy food to put some weight on those bones!  After all, no one from this house suffers from a lack of food!!!!

Can't you tell how happy I am?  This is definitely MY spot!

Happy weekend everyone!

HOT, HOT, HOT!!!

It's damn hot here!  Like, STUPID hot! Over 100 degrees!!

So, this is what we have been doing....

Notice that nice floor fan back there by our window a/c unit? (we have central air, but the window unit just helps make things nice and arctic!)  We think all our pups suffering in this hideous heat need one of those "cool" fans!  It blows right across the floor on us and is sooo refreshing!

So, if you are in the midst of this heat wave, please stay cool!!!

HELP!!!

Have you ever wondered how YOU can help pets in shelters and also rescues?  Become a FOSTER HOME!

It's very easy to do.  You just let a dog live in your home for a while.  Most rescues, like our very own Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue, will cover food, heartworm preventative, shots, and all veterinary care.  All YOU have to provide is love and attention!  It is incredibly rewarding, and think of all the lives that can be saved!

TBSHR currently has a waiting list for dogs we are trying to save, but we are still looking for foster homes.  You can check their Facebook page here.  One has a potential foster, but the others do not.

These handsome babies are currently looking for foster homes with TBSHR.

Jalopy

Opening your heart and home to a needy dog, whether as an adopter, or a foster, helps save lives!  The more dogs that can come out of shelters and go to foster homes, the more dogs can be saved by not only going to rescue, but also by creating an opening at the shelter for another needy dog.  Having every shelter be a "no kill" shelter would be ideal, but we all know that isn't the way things are.  We sure don't want these adorable pups to become one of the "statistics" of euthanasia.

Even WE might be taking one of these handsome pups in.  Which, if you know me, is quite giving on my part.  I don't normally like to share my house, but, to help save a life, I will promise to try and be nice.  Besides, that Titus is rather handsome!

Wherever you live, see if YOU can help local shelters or a rescue by becoming a foster home.  It really is simple, and the rewards are beyond imagining - Pride, Unconditional Love, and the Satisfaction, Joy and Enthusiasm of knowing YOU helped save a precious LIFE!

PeeEss: Kitties need foster homes, too! So, if you are not a "dog" person, there are Cat rescues and shelters that need foster homes for them, too!

Fun Foto Friday

Since our humans have been overly lazy for a REALLY long time, we don't have any new photo's to share.

So, since we are having a bit of a heat wave, I decided to post these pictures because THIS is what I would rather be doing.

I hate summer.  And, it just started!
