One More Day

Hey everyone! I hate to tell you this, but you will have to wait one more day to read the rest of Abby's story. Mom was kinda busy tonight, so I didn't get time to get on the laptop to finish sharing Abby's adventure. Therefore, it will be posted on Friday.

In the mean time, here are a couple pictures of me doing some Spring yard work.

See Khyra, I actually DO more than just nap all the time! I am a REAL working dog!

Abby's Big Adventure Part 1

Dad had Good Friday off, so he decided to go see his mom. And, he decided to take Abby with him and make an adventure of it! At 15 she doesn't usually get out for big adventures much. She's kinda gimpy and doesn't move very fast (as you will see later). But, she does love to get out and about, especially when it's nice outside!

Their first stop was Lewis and Clark State Park where Abby did some snoofering. I wonder if she was smelling bunnies or those evil squirrels?

Here she is on her way to check out some geese. (this is close to her top speed - hence the reason for no leash)

Then, dad put her up on a picnic table for some cute poses!

Next, they stopped at Blackbird Hill Scenic Overlook. It's a really cool place along the Lewis and Clark scenic byway on the Omaha Indian Reservation land. Here is a short video of her checking out the smells outside the overlook. Notice the cool view of the Missouri River when dad pans around.

Next are a few pics of her inside the overlook building. There is a lot of information about the Omaha Tribe, and other local history regarding Thurston county and it's early pioneers, posted on the plaques. It's a very interesting place.

Here she is reading one of the plaques about the Omaha Tribe earthlodges.

She had a really good time there! Lots to see and learn!

We'll continue her big adventure on Thursday since tomorrow is our usual Wordless Wednesday post! So, be sure to check back both tomorrow and Thursday for the big finale! You won't be disappointed!

Watch and Learn

Stealth is the key here.

Begin by keeping an eye on the potential target.

If caught watching, look away and fake disinterest.

Continue to fake disinterest so as not to raise any interest by the humans to remove said target.

When in doubt, give the "What? I'm not doing anything" look.

Then, when it seems safe, move in slowly, and.......

Very carefully........

SCORE!!!!!!

Yep, it pays to be smart. I hope you have all learned something from this lesson.

Where I Went

Since everyone is curious how the baby got her nappy spot back and where I went, I will fill you all in.

First, this is where I went. To my OWN nappy spot, on my OWN couch!

Second, because I wanted to.

And, third, no one made me. I do my own thing on my own time. I was just teaching her that I'm the one in charge here!

(Not So) Wordless Wednesday

Ummmmm......you're in my spot.

Hey, Holly?
Can I please have my nappy spot back?

Can I get a little help here, please?

Ahhhhh.....I do love my nappy spot!

Chew Toy

This is pretty self explanatory.

At least it wasn't me she was chewing on.

Serene Sunday

A very good way to spend my day.

Mom always wonders how I can breathe with my nose in the corner like this.

Even the baby was having a serene day.

Hope everyone had as serene a day as we did!

2010 Cat-O-Lympics - Competitive Napping

Hey every buddy! Khady Lynn here with you. Again!!! I saw on my friend Huffle's blog that she is having Cat-O-Lympics and is hosting the Competitive Napping event. I figured this was right up my alley!!! I have, after all, studied with the Queen of Napping herself.......Holly!!

So, dear Huffle, here are my submissions for Competitive Napping! Feel free to choose your favorite!

Doing my best to nap, even though Samuel is in MY spot!

My crab stuffie makes a wonderful napping pillow!

Being brave, and napping on Hollys spot on HER couch.

Napping on my wonderful cool air vent last summer.

Napping "huzzy" style on the doggie beds.

MY usual spot on the couch.

Doing the general "huzzy pose" to nap.

I can nap anywhere! For example.......on Samuel's paws.

This is the human's bed. It's pretty comfy, too!

This is usually mom's spot on the couch. But, I decided to do my doggie donut pawsition in it.

This is my doggie donut a'la sunshine.

Napping with Holly's moose toy.

Dad, trying to share my napping spot with me. Pfffttt - not cool, dad!)

And, finally, my "try to take up the whole couch" napping pawsition.

I have been such a good student of Holly's, don't you think? I sure hope I have a shot at the gold! I do practice a LOT!
