Dad had Good Friday off, so he decided to go see his mom. And, he decided to take Abby with him and make an adventure of it! At 15 she doesn't usually get out for big adventures much. She's kinda gimpy and doesn't move very fast (as you will see later). But, she does love to get out and about, especially when it's nice outside!
Their first stop was
Lewis and Clark State Park where Abby did some snoofering. I wonder if she was smelling bunnies or those evil squirrels?

Here she is on her way to check out some geese. (this is close to her top speed - hence the reason for no leash)
Then, dad put her up on a picnic table for some cute poses!

Next, they stopped at
Blackbird Hill Scenic Overlook. It's a really cool place along the Lewis and Clark scenic byway on the Omaha Indian Reservation land. Here is a short video of her checking out the smells outside the overlook. Notice the cool view of the Missouri River when dad pans around.
Next are a few pics of her inside the overlook building. There is a lot of information about the Omaha Tribe, and other local history regarding Thurston county and it's early pioneers, posted on the plaques. It's a very interesting place.

Here she is reading one of the plaques about the Omaha Tribe earthlodges.

She had a really good time there! Lots to see and learn!
We'll continue her big adventure on Thursday since tomorrow is our usual Wordless Wednesday post! So, be sure to check back both tomorrow and Thursday for the big finale! You won't be disappointed!
