Merry Christmas to all...

Even though mom didn't put up a tree this year, she has a nice picture of the one she put up last year.

Today is also a special day for me. One year ago today I was found by mom and dad in that corn field practically starving to death. Luckily these 2 wonderful people scooped me up, and took me into their home. Which is now mine!

So, in recognition of my 1 year anniversary at my wonderful house, and my birthday (this is the day mom decided to count since neither of us knows for sure when I was really born) I would like to share the following wish (which mom got off one of her husky groups):

On Christmas morning, I wish...

For every dog searching trash cans for breakfast, a full bowl with his name printed in bright letters.

For every dog who slept fitfully last night, chained in a frozen yard, a soft, warm bed with a person snoring gently nearby.

For every shelter dog, spending Christmas morning in a soiled run, a forever home, filled with sounds and smells of family.

For every "Christmas" puppy given today, a tolerant, caring owner who won't abandon you as you grow into a real dog.

For every ailing pet, enough money for your owner to pay the bills to make you well.

For every lost dog, a clear, safe road, and well marked path, to lead you home.

For every old and tired friend, a warm fire, and a soft bed, to ease your aches and pains.... and....

For every Dog at the Bridge, a moment when you know that you are remembered today, missed again, and loved forever.

That was beautiful. It made our mom get teary eyed too. We wish all dogs and kitties could have what we have. Even when we are in jail, there is water, a bed and it is in the house. We aren't sure who loves the other more ... us or Mom. We just know there is lots of love.

Merry Christmas,

Roxie, Sammy & Andy

ps. i have a soft spot for malamutes. my mawma's first favorite dog was a malamute named uke she met in south dakota 25 years ago when she was just little! uke started her lifelong love of dogs so i'm grateful to malamutes.
