First, I would like to thank everyone for their kinds words, thoughts and prayers at the loss of our dear Abby. Mom is so broken hearted that it really helped her to read all the wonderful things everyone wrote. A big THANK YOU especially to our friend Khyra for posting it on her blog. Abby was mom's first Sibe, and the whole reason she fell in love with us northern breeds and, why she got that weird, droopy eared, slightly psycho Samuel. Abby was the beginning of her obsession, and without her, the rest of us, including rescues Kelsey and Shula, wouldn't have had such a wonderful life. So, again, thank you all so much!
Now, on to some interesting stuff. I got this email today, and it piqued my naturally curious Mal mind.
Hi,
I have a client who would be interested in advertising on your site: http://hollyshouse5.blogspot.com/
My client's website is an online resource for exclusive shopping deals for pet supplies. Their website has been mentioned as a resource by publications such as U.S. News & World Report, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times.
I would be much obliged if you can please email your advertising rates.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Best,
Will Curtis
Hmmmm, I thought to myself......I am in need of some more Happy Hearts cookies, and, there are still 4 of us to feed here, and, we do like to have that expensive canned food mixed in with our kibble, and, Khady can always use some more toys to de-stuff, and, there are all the stupid expensive meds we have to take, soooo...
I replied to Mr. Curtis and told him my advertising rates are $1000 per week.
I wonder if I'll get a response.

hey Holly,
I am sorry to read your mom is so heartbroken, but totally understandable. The loss of a beloved pet is so difficult to bear. We send her our love and healing vibes.
Very cool about your entrepreneurial adventures, Holly! Just remember us little dogs when you make it to Forbes 10 Richest Dogs list.

That price sounds fair. Let's see what you get back. Methinks silence. Cheep, cheep, cheep.

We are sure your Mom knows that it takes time to get over the physical loss of a beloved pup, but Abby is with her forever. Hugs to your Mom and Dad from us.
We got that same email. Mom replied that our blog was purely for fun and friendship and that we didn't do any advertising. They replied that they saw our Happy Hearts badge and figured we might do it for them too:)

Awww, I didn't get any emails. I guess nobody wants to advertise on mine!
I'm still so sorry about Abby. I didn't realize she was the first. I can't imagine how I'll feel when Layla's gone. I might have to be institutionalized.
We were very sorry about Abby.
We take it you don't do advertising on your blog. :)
We think a $1000 per week is most fair and ALMOST covers our bully stick habit.
Woo, Holly! You're so SMART! We've had a bunch of offers - but I never thought to respond like that!!! I can't wait for the next one, now!
Luv,
Dave
