More Stupid Weather

Well, for the second time this week, we have had a tornado warning. The first tornado warning was Sunday morning about 2:30 a.m. and it went right over our house!!! We were very lucky! Our fence was flattened along the back, and we have lots of tree damage. The neighborhood less than a mile from us actually had a touch down, and houses were severely damaged. Luckily, no one was injured, because it came out of nowhere and with no warning.

Then, tonight, another stupid tornado warning!! While dad got us to the basement, mom was stuck at work. She works on the 26th floor in her building. Here is a picture she took out of the west window before the tornado siren went off.

It didn't look too bad to her at this point. When the tornado siren finally went off, she decided to stay in her office, cuz she is lazy and didn't want to go down 30 flights of stairs to the basement. The building security shuts down the elevators and locks down the building as soon as a tornado warning is given. And, even though this tornado was a long way from downtown, they do not let people leave. So, mom was stuck at work, and wasn't even able to leave, even though the tornado was way west of her.

But, then the sky changed and looked like this;

Finally, she decided to go to the basement. She was stuck there from about 7:20 p.m. until almost 8:30 p.m.!!! When they finally let everyone leave, she almost drown her car trying to get home. The rain was sooo heavy and fell so quickly, that the interstate she takes home was underwater in one area. There was lots of street flooding all over town. But, she did finally make it home at almost 9!!

Dad finally brought us all up from the basement when mom got home, and we were very happy to see her. We were sure to sniff her to make sure she was ok.

The sad thing is, that there was a touchdown north of Omaha in Little Sioux Iowa, where a Boy Scout troupe was camping. There were some deaths, and several injuries. Please keep all those poor people, and their families in your prayers. The Midwest sucks. I hate Nebraska!

I can't wait for fall to get here, cuz this weather is stupid, and dangerous, and I'm already sick of it.

"Mother Nature" my furry bee-hind!

If that's my mother, no wonder the Human Assistant says I'm grumpy!

But kind thoughts for the humans whose lives were torn apart or ended by the storms.

Dear Holly,
We've all been so worried about woo, and all our other friends in the Midwest. We agree that weather you're all getting up there is stoopid, and we're sick of it too. We're adding our prayers for those who were lost or injured, and extra pretty pleases for God to keep our friends safe.
Hugs & kisses,

So many of my wonderful fur friends have been effected by tornados and flooding. I'm glad you have a safe basement to hide. We don't have a basement here in Virginia. I wish we did.

Stay safe

I am so glad you have survived all the weather! Do you have to go outside on a leash now? I hope your fence gets fixed soon because that would be no fun!

Holly,
This weather is just awful--and very scary. We were very sorry to hear about the cub scouts: that must have been so scary.

I was just over at the Ao4 telling them to move to Australia where we don't get tornadoes - maybe you should come too!

Hey Holly,

Thank goodness you and your family are safe.

My Mom can relate to what you're
experiencing even in Georgia. A few years ago, she had an F-4 blast right through her house. Mom and the kids were in it at the time. Somehow, Mom and the kids survived and defied the laws of physics and were not sucked up in the vortex of the big swoosh as Mom calls it.

Unfortunately, Tolkien was twirled. He survived. No broken
bones. However, he was left with lots of weather anxieties.

We'll keep everyone in our thoughts and prayers.

Peace,

Arwen

Oh Holly, you have to be so tired of this, and you still have all summer to go. We have the hurricane thing here and mom has our evacuation pack reay, just in case. Keep your mom and dad safe in the basement.

Yeah, what's up with this stupid weather? We're glad woo & your family are safe.

We send sibe vibes and soft woos to the families of the Scouts. That's very sad.

When my boys were Scouts, they got caught in a tornado - warning storm one summer at Scout camp, but the tornado skipped over the camp. I was worried sick about them till I knew they were ok.

Woo be careful!

We've had a lot of bad storms here in Ohio too, and some tornado warnings but luckily none really close by. Glad you're all ok. That was quite the experience for you all and a close call. Stay safe.

Wow that is a scary photograph. We are having daily tropical thunderstorms, and I hate the noise, but I'll deal with it. We are in a new condo building, with hurricane windows, so if it gets really bad (like a HURRICANE or something!) we will just go in the bathroom and hunker down. I am sure I won't like that! Stay safe ...
