A Special Birthday

Today is Abby's 15th birthday!!! Yep, that's right, 15!!! She sure doesn't act like it. She's still very spunky and in very good health. She's kind of gimpy, cuz she's had surgery on both her knee's due to torn anterior cruciate ligaments (ACL), but she still has a bounce to her step when she gets excited and wants to play. She was mom's very first Siberian, and the reason she fell in love with the breed.

Here are some pics of Abby from a few days ago when she was out enjoying all the snow.

Happy birthday Abby!!! Enjoy your day!

We all hope you are around for a long time to come!!

More Fun Snow Pics

For your viewing entertainment, I thought I would post some more pics of us enjoying our snow. We're suppose to get 3-7 inches of more snow on Wednesday. Plus, temps are below zero, so it's totally our kind of weather!

Droopy (aka Samuel) and Khady.

Such an emptiness to those eyes. Must be reflective of his brains. Hawooo!! Dad is always saying he looks "stoned", but I've never seen a rock look that dorky.

Kona keeps getting fluffier and fluffier! He is loving the snow!

Snow is very tasty!

I'm thinking of my friend Zim of the Ao4 and trying to dig a snow fort!

Isn't my baby adorable?!

Here's Monty, with Khady's Husky head toy. I think he's in love with it, cuz he is always stealing it from her.

Up to my eyeballs in snow.

Stay warm everyone! Going to be well below zero here this week with highs in the single digits. Needless to say, the humans aren't as happy about it as we are!

Hangin' Out

I've spent a lot of time just hanging out in the snow for the last several days. Here are a few pictures to show you how I have been spending my time.

Me and Kona enjoying the fluffy coldness.

Me, Khady and Samuel.

Khady, invading my resting space.

Ahhhhh, so relaxing!

This feels soooo good!

I think there's something under this snow.

Snow snoofering.

This is truly the life for me!

Blizzard

We got a Christmas blizzard. We are thoroughly enjoying ourselves in it!

We couldn't have asked for a better present!

The snow is still coming down today, and is not suppose to stop until tomorrow so me time. We are all perfectly happy with that!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Now, back to my nap so I can conserve my energy for playing later.

Gotcha Day

Happy Christmas Eve to everyone! Today is also my gotcha day. That's right, 4 years ago today mom, dad and cousin Tracy (our puppy sitter when the humans are gone) were driving on their way back from seeing dad's family, when mom spotted what she "thought" was a Siberian Husky in a cornfield. Of course, mom whipped the car around, then got out to call to the dog she saw. When I saw her, I went running happily to her! I was sooo happy to have someone notice me! I immediately dropped, and rolled onto my back to give her my tummy to rub. She seemed quite surprised by how big I was cuz I remember her saying "Ohhh, you're not a Husky, you're a MALAMUTE!" I think it was my big feet that gave me away.

Here are a couple pictures of me from only 3 days after I got here. Notice how skinny I was. The vet told mom that I had a tapeworm, so if she hadn't rescued me, I would have died.

Needless to say, I'm not starving anymore.

I am so happy to have my family. Both human, and canine. There are many pups out there who are not so lucky. Please, remember to think of them this holiday season, and hope they can get as lucky as I have and find their loving furever homes too.

It has been a hard year on so many of my doggie friends families. Many have gone to the Rainbow Bridge, including my own baby, Khady's, grandma Penny. She passed away in the arms of her family just yesterday. We are all heartbroken for Penny's family. She was taken much too quickly, and at such a young age, too. Godspeed pretty Penny. May you shine as brightly at the Bridge as you did in the show ring.

So, to every human out there who is reading this with your pups, kitties, hamsterriers, etc., hug your fur babies tight, and light a candle for all those who are no longer with us this Christmas.

We are keeping all our paws crossed for a much better new year.

Mom's Present

Mom got her Christmas present early. She's always wanted to get a tattoo of all her fur babies as a way to keep us all "with her" forever. Well, she finally decided to go for it!

This is her tattoo of Abby. It's on the outside of her right leg.

Here is the picture that was her inspiration.

I think her tattoo guy did a pretty good job! And, mom absolutely LOVES it!

Wonder when she'll get to my picture? I heard her mention a certain droopy-eared, whiny, freaky boy was next. I wonder if his pic will be pre or post droop?

Holly

PeeEss: Please take a minute to stop by Khady's "twin", Jack, of Cybersibes blog. He lost his new sister Tori on Friday. She had only been with them for about a month, and was still just a young girl. The heavens now have a new shining star, and Sherman has his sister with him at the Bridge. Godspeed beautiful Tori.
