Goody Box Arrived!

Mom signed me up to be a remote hiker for the 5th Annual Tails on the Trails Siberian Husky hike. I sure wished I could have been there in furson, but unfortunately Pennsylvania is a long way from Omaha. But, I was there in spirit! I stole mom's plastic and made a donation, and also sponsored a few of my blogger doggie buddies!! They all did so well, and raised a LOT of money for the rescue and foster Sibes!!!

Anyway, as a remote hiker, I got a goody bag (mine was a goody box) just like all the cool dogs that were actually there.

So, I would like to share some photo's and video of me with my goody box! There was SOOO much cool stuff in it! And even a TOTTSHR t-shirt for mom! (she absolutely loves it and already wore it today).

Here I am checking out the goody box. That's mom's t-shirt on top.

Now we're getting to the good stuff! Hhmmm, what can I find in here that looks tasty?

Oh Look!!! Sam and I found some tasty treats! Notice my cool purple bandanna!

And here is a video of me doing my most favorite thing....EATING tasty treats!

Then I was nice enough to let the others check out my goody box! I did find some other things to pull out for myself again.

I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all the good people at Tails of the Tundra Siberian Husky Rescue for all the great work they do in rescuing all those poor Sibes who need new homes. Paws up to you for all you do!

Nickname Game

Since a lot of my pup pals have been listing their nicknames, I thought I would play along too. I love these kind of games!

Me first (as usual):
Hollybollyboo, Hollybollybananaboo (thanks Khyra for that one), Boo, Boomonster, Malamonster, Fluffy butt, Minimoose, Hollyhorse, Charmin (cuz I'm squeezably soft)

Samuel:
Sam, Sam I Am, Sammy, Sam Sam, Tam Tam, Poophead, Poopy,
Peepee, Fuzzybutt, Stinky, Stinkybutt

Abby:
Abby Doobie, Doobie dog, Doobie, Doob Doob

Kona:
Kona Bona, Fat A**, Putsy, Pokey, Pokeybutt

Monty:
Monster

Well, that's it. In fact, most of the time mom doesn't even use our real names. Most of the time it's Boo, Doobie, Poopy, Fat A** and Monster. Good thing we are smart enough to figure out who she is talking about with all those names she calls us. Well, except for Monty. He's so lame he only has one nickname.

Vehicle Tag

Ha roo every dog and Girl Girl! Sorry I have been away for so long. It's been a bit of a busy week. Mom had to give up her laptop for 2 days so her company could set it up for her to work from home. Then, she went out of town for a day to Chicago for her job.

But, now that she is back and finally letting me blog, lets get down to business!

My good friends the Army of Four have tagged me for a great new game. We have to describe what type of vehicle we are and why. I have given this some serious thought, and also consulted with mom and dad. Here is what we came up with.

Mom and dad both agree that I am a Hummer.

I'm big, wide, can go through just about anything, and am very tough!

Samuel is a Ford F250.

He is strong, a very big Siberian Husky, and he can pull very well!

Monty is very similar to Samuel, but I think we'll compare him to a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

He's very capable on road or off, loves to pull, and loves adventure.

Kona....Well, what can I say about Kona. When I think of Kona, I think of a Buick Park Avenue.

He takes his time getting around (slow and putsy) but is very friendly and quite polished around people.

Abby is definitely a Cadillac.

She is beautiful, very regal, glides along effortlessly, and is top of the line.

This has been quite fun, and I had to think really hard to come up with all these cool vehicles. So, I think now I need a nap. It's still pretty hot here even though it's the first day of fall! It was 86 degrees today. Where is my cool weather now that it's officially cool weather season?!?!

I am going to tag Maddox, Quincy and Tristin, and Tasha and Eva.

Samuel is SO annoyyyying!!

Good Lord he's annoying! Won't SHUT UP when he wants something. And what does he want? Food! He wants mom to get up off her lazy butt, get off the computer, and feed him!

She keeps asking him what he wants, and he keeps telling her "I want food" and "feed me", but because she's a human, and therefore stupid, she doesn't get it. So instead, she just keeps asking him what he wants, and he keeps YELLING at her to feed him. Obviously he's starving! Can't you tell??

Notice the squirt bottle she shows him, (ignore her stupid Tweety sleepy pants) and how he immediately shuts up. That's the "threat" she uses to get him to be quiet. It works, but she's mean, cuz she just threatens him with it, then laughs at him as he cowers away from her. She laughs at him!!!

Then, notice how nice and quiet I am being. I am sooooo good!

This was the pre-cursor to us getting the bananas in the other video. But good grief, look what poor Sam had to go through to get them! Oh well, at least I got to reap the benefits.

Bananananananas!!

Hey everypup and Girl Girl, sorry about the sad poems the last couple of posts. I thought they were both so be-woo-tiful, that I just had to share!

But, enough of the weepy stuff. Back to the fun!!

Mom recently decided buy some bananas!!! My darling Dave absolutely loves them, so I had been trying to get mom to buy ME some. Well, she finally did!

Mom found out that the whiny pathetic boy (aka Samuel) likes them too! Luckily we are the only ones, so any time mom peels one, I only have to share with him. Mom even got a video of us getting our bananana!!! Notice how good I'm being!

Well, I hope you enjoyed my video! And, I hope it has cheered you all up after my "serene" moment.

And, most especially, thank you Dave, for suggesting such a yummy treat!

A Dog's Soul

Mom got this poem off her Sibernet group. She thought it was soooo beautiful, and she wanted to share it with all of you, so she told me I could post it here. A big thanks to Patricia Tiedy of Aniak Sibes for letting me post it. Feel free to pass it on to anyone, or anydog you know.

A Dogs Soul

Every dog must have a soul, somewhere deep inside,
Where all his hurts and grievances are buried with his pride.

Where he decides the good and bad, the wrong way from the right,
And where his judgement carefully is hidden from our sight.

A dog must have a secret place, where every thought abides,
A sort of close acquaintance that he trusts in and confides.

And when accused unjustly, for himself he cannot speak,
Rebuked, he finds within his soul, the comfort he must seek.

He'll love, tho' he is unloved, and he'll serve tho' badly used,
And one kind word will wipe away the times when he's abused.

Altho' his heart may break in two, his love will still be whole,
Because God gave to every dog, an understanding soul.

A Beautiful Story

Mom got this great story e-mailed to her from a friend who is also a doggie lover. She liked it so much, she said I could share it with all my friends.

Our dog, Abbey, died August 23, and the day after Abbey died, my 4 year old, Meredith, was SO upset. She wanted to write a letter to God so that He would recognize Abbey in heaven. She told me what to write, and I did.
Then she put 2 pictures of Abbey in the envelope. We addressed it to God in Heaven, put two stamps on it because, as she said, it could be a long way to Heaven. We put our return address on it, and I let her put it in the drop box at the post office that afternoon. She was absolutely sure that letter would get to Heaven, and I wasn't about to disillusion her.

So today we took the kids to the museum in Austin, and when we came home, there was a package wrapped in gold on our front porch. It was addressed to Meredith. So... she took it inside and opened it. Inside was a book, When A Pet Dies by Mr. Rogers (Fred Rogers). Inside the front cover was the letter we had written to God, in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was one of the pictures of Abbey taped on the page. On the back page was the other picture of Abbey, and this handwritten note on paper:

"Dear Meredith,
I know that you will be happy to find out that Abbey arrived safely and soundly in Heaven. Having the pictures you sent to Me was a big help! I recognized Abbey right away! You know, Meredith, she isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is here with Me, just like it stays in your heart...young and running and playing. Abbey loved being your dog, you know. Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep things in. So... I am sending you your beautiful letter back with the pictures so that you will have this little memory book to keep. One of My angels is taking care of this for Me. I hope this little book will help. Thank you for your beautiful letter. Thank your mother for sending it. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.

Signed,
God

Well, I sure hope you liked that story. I thought it was very sweet.
