If you complain long enough.....

The snow gods are no longer forsaking us!!! Look, we got SNOW!!!!!!!

Here is Abby and me relaxing in the nice fluffy new SNOW! Aaahhhhh, this is sure the life!

Can you tell by the look on my face how happy I am??!! This stuff is awesome!

Freda
told me to be careful what I bark for, and she was right! Luckily, I've been barking my complaints for long enough that the snow gods finally got tired of listening to me and sent some snow!

Now, if I could just get some of this down to the A04 and Tubey!

I'll keep complaining for you guys, and hopefully the snow gods will listen again, and send some your way!

I also want to wish every dog, and human, and Fufu, a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

See you all next year. heehee!

A very happy

Since it's 50 degrees here

In honor of our crappy, rainy, 50 freaking degree weather, and the fact that it's almost JANUARY........the following is a tribute sung to the tune of Row, Row, Row, Your Boat.

Blow, Blow, Blow my coat,
Blow it all away.
I'll be naked very soon if
it doesn't snow today!!

Why has all the snow
Gone out to the West?
Those lucky Denver Malamutes
are in snow beyond their chests.

Blow, Blow, Blow my coat,
the hunks are coming out.
I'm really mad,
I want some snow,
I want to howl and shout.

Christmas came and went,
New Years coming, too.
And I'm still looking at the same
old muddy view!

Blow, Blow, Blow my coat,
I do not look nifty.
The stinking, rotten temperature
Is staying at fifty!!

This wonderful song was written by Margaret, who is the human to a Malamute named Mala, and is on one of my humans Malamute e-mail groups. I loved her song so much, and it totally fit what is going on here in sucky Omaha. So, many thanks to Mala's human for letting me post her song!!

Since I'm pouting.....

Since all the nice fluffy snow is going to be west of me, I am going to share an old (last February) video of me and Sam playing in that last snow our sucky state has seen.

I would also like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to the Ao4's human for explaining to my human (who then explained it to me) about how to post my videos. I am extremely thankful for her assistance and computer knowledge. I can honestly say she is one human who doesn't qualify as "stupid." My human, of course, still does!

So, now that I can post video of us, there will be more coming!!

The word "duh" comes to mind

I saw this article on Yahoo! news, and the first thing that came to my mind was "duh."

Oh wait......I forgot.......Humans are stupid. Which explains everything.

By the way, I have the most wonderful news. I was visiting my friend Maverick the Pirate's blog, and found out that I have earned a new title.

Therefore, I will now be referred to as Her Exalted Highness Duchess Holly the FURtive of Puddleston St. Droop. Or, just HEHD Holly.

I like the FUR reference, but not sure about that St. Droop thing.

More crappy rain coming

Once again, the snow is going to miss us. Go figure.

We're going to get lots of rain Friday and Saturday. They say it's suppose to get colder on Sunday and turn into snow. Once again....my prediction is......WHATEEEVVVEEERRR!

I predict NO snow (as usual), just rain, with maybe some faker-wanna-be light "flurries" that turn into water as soon as they hit anything.

We haven't had snow here in so long, I have forgotten what it looks like. Sigh.

And the most depressing part? Denver is gonna get snow AGAIN! So is western Nebraska. It's basically going to hit everywhere west of ME.

Merry Christmas to all...

Even though mom didn't put up a tree this year, she has a nice picture of the one she put up last year.

Today is also a special day for me. One year ago today I was found by mom and dad in that corn field practically starving to death. Luckily these 2 wonderful people scooped me up, and took me into their home. Which is now mine!

So, in recognition of my 1 year anniversary at my wonderful house, and my birthday (this is the day mom decided to count since neither of us knows for sure when I was really born) I would like to share the following wish (which mom got off one of her husky groups):

On Christmas morning, I wish...

For every dog searching trash cans for breakfast, a full bowl with his name printed in bright letters.

For every dog who slept fitfully last night, chained in a frozen yard, a soft, warm bed with a person snoring gently nearby.

For every shelter dog, spending Christmas morning in a soiled run, a forever home, filled with sounds and smells of family.

For every "Christmas" puppy given today, a tolerant, caring owner who won't abandon you as you grow into a real dog.

For every ailing pet, enough money for your owner to pay the bills to make you well.

For every lost dog, a clear, safe road, and well marked path, to lead you home.

For every old and tired friend, a warm fire, and a soft bed, to ease your aches and pains.... and....

For every Dog at the Bridge, a moment when you know that you are remembered today, missed again, and loved forever.

Author unknown

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY FURRY FRIENDS AND THEIR LOVING, CARING HUMANS!

Time to move west

We didn't get ice. We didn't get snow. We got rain.

Here's what's going on the next 7 days.

Nothing but cloudy, gloomy days, except for Christmas, when it's going to be SUNNY!

Although "maybe" some snow on Friday morning. My thoughts and predictions on that? Yeah right. Whateeevvveeerrrrr!

I've decided to move to Denver. Here's what they're getting for the next 7 days.

Oh look! SNOW. SNOW. And more SNOW.

Need I say more?

More crappy weather, but still no SNOW

Well, here's the weather report. We'll see how accurate they actually are. Usually, they just like to tease us with the possability of snow. But, ice is icky, and we don't want any of that. After the ice it's mainly going to be plain ol' nasty rain. Yuck! Then it just warms right back up. *sigh*

Clouds will increase this evening with rain developing after midnight tonight. Freezing rain will be possible between 5 and 7 am around the Omaha Metro. Rain will continue to fall throughout Wednesday with highs in the upper 30s. For travelers, heavy snow is expected to impact western Nebraska, southwest South Dakota and eastern Wyoming. Up to a foot of snow will be possible in far western Nebraska near Scottsbluff.

Tonight - Rain, developing around 5am. Low: 32 Wind: SE 10 mph.

Wednesday - Freezing Rain possible Between 6 & 8 am, otherwise Rain. High: 38. Wind: East 10-15 mph.

Thursday - Cloudy, Snow Possible Late. High: 42.

I'm inclined to want to hitch a ride to Scottsbluff for a while since they're suppose to get a FOOT of snow, and we're just getting............Rain.

Swimming in DECEMBER!

Yep. You read it correctly. The weather here is so warm we went swimming yesterday.

Here I am coming out of the water. Notice the date on the photo. DECEMBER 16th. Not July, but December! Ummmmm, last time I checked, we live in Nebraska, not FLORIDA!! Shouldn't this be ICE I am walking on top of?

Here is Sam and Monty swimming. They are having so much fun frolicking in the cool water.

After our swimming adventure, we got to root around in the brush where the geese were sitting. There were so many great smells, and we had lots of fun digging! That's me in the middle.

This picture here is me getting ready to pounce on something I see in the brush. Note my alert stare! We didn't find any critters to eat though. That was sort of a bummer after all the hard work we did digging.

Here is a nice shot of Monty and Sam's butts in the air, and their heads in the holes they were digging. They really get into this sort of thing!
After all that swimming and digging, as soon as I got home I was so sleepy, I had to lay down outside and take a nap. *Sigh*

The weather predictor people "say" we might get some snow on Thursday. My prediction is: Yeah. Sure. Whateeevvvveeerrrrr! Or, in other words....... NOT! They always lie to us, get our hopes up, and then we get NOTHING.

I'm IT!

I've been Christmas tagged by Meeshka.

Things I would love to get for Christmas:

1. SNOW. I'm still waiting for the white stuff to arrive.
2. More food. This dieting thing has been on my nerves for quite a while now.
3. My very own toys that I don't have to share, and mom doesn't take away from me.
4. 3 or 4 walks a day instead of just 1.

Things I do not want for Christmas:

1. Green beans in my food.
2. Other dogs or humans laying on MY couch.
3. Brushed with that Furminator thing that removes all my fluffiness.

I tag my friends Kelsey, Poseidon, Turbo, Indy, and Althea.

The Rules:
The player of this game starts with "3 things he/she would love to get for Christmas", and then lists "3 things he/she definitely does not want to get for Christmas." Then, he/she tags 5 friends and lists their names. The ones who get tagged need to write on their blogs about their Christmas wishes, as well as state this rule clearly, then tag 5 more victims. And, the one who tags, needs to leave a comment that says, "You've been Christmas tagged!" in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

Happy Holidays!

Yep. I'm winning. 47 to 4.

On the left you see my cards.

On the right.....the pathetic display of cards that the humans have received.

Guess we know who's more popular and has more friends now, don't we?

I'm actually running out of room for all my cards! Heehee!

My newest additions are from;

Shannon, Princess and Katie the Kitties.

This is just so much fun! And the human woman bought me some new Hallmark Studio software so next year I will be able to make some really COOL cards!! WooWoooooo!

FURniture is for dogs

My friend Turbo said he doesn't understand why dogs aren't allowed on the FURniture.

At my house, as you have previously seen, the couch pretty much belongs to us dogs.

I have even had my fluffy butt in the recliner.

Of course, this was when I first came to live at my house and I only weighed 79 pounds, so it was a bit easier to fit my fluffiness in it.

Funny thing is, that tonight when mom came into the family room (seen above) and dad was sitting in the recliner, which is usually mom's chair, she had to sit way on the other side of the couch (usually where I lay) because Abby was sitting in the spot closest to the end table. At that point dad laughed and told her they needed to get another couch. Mom said "you mean for the dogs?" And he said.......... "No, for us." HA!!!

So, as you can see, we have the humans totally trained that since the couch is FURniture, therefore it belongs to those of us with FUR. Which basically means........NOT the humans.

Here is my whiney pathetic brother Samuel sitting on the couch in his own strange way. Notice his butt isn't on the cushions. It's on the ARM of the couch. There is something significantly wrong with this Sibe. I just haven't figured out what it is yet.

I, apparently, am the only one who knows the "proper" way to take over the FURniture.

Boys are stupid

Dad took Kona (aka Fat A**) for a private walk on Sunday so he could comb his overly fluffy "diaper butt" as mom calls it. He walks around like he has a diaper on his butt, cuz his fur is so thick. And besides, he waddles like a baby wearing a diaper so that is where mom got the name.

He is such a doofus. There is a little Westie that lives on the hill where dad likes to walk us, and he is a boy too. He always comes to the fence to meet us whenever dad walks us there.

So, when they first meet, this little dog has to "mark" his territory since big doofy Kona is sniffing at his fence.

Kona, being a stupid boy, feels the need to "mark" everything he walks by. Which, is one reason mom doesn't like to walk him, because he as to stop and pee on literally everything! Kona sees the little Westie "mark" the fence, and so not to be outdone, he also "marks" this little white dogs fence.

Boys!!! You are so gross! I'm so glad us girls don't have those kind of disgusting habits. Sam and Monty often take turns in the back yard "marking" the bushes, one after the other, after the other, etc. It's a total peeing contest and it's just ICKY!

Someone really needs to teach these boys some manners!

More fun cards!

I've gotten even more cards! It's so much fun! Dad was even complaining the other day that I was the only one getting any mail lately!! heehee!

My new cards are from:

Toby, and

As you can see, my wall above my couch is starting to get full! But doesn't it look nice?

Thanks so much everyone for your great cards! I think I have dad talked into buying me some new computer software so next year I will be able to make my OWN cards, like lots of my new doggie friends have done! I was so impressed I figured I better get with the times and get some cool personalized, home-made ones! And since the humans have no problem spending money one us fur kids, I'm pretty sure I will get that for Christmas from dad. Along with some other cool stuff of course! (hopefully edible)

I love my Christmas cards!

I am so excited about all the wonderful Christmas cards I have gotten so far! It is so much fun to get mail!

Here is a picture of me on my couch, and all my beautiful cards are on the wall above me! So I want to say thank you to:

Boo,
Tin Tin, and

You guys are all great! Thanks so much for those who have visited my blog. I am trying to get to all of yours. But, with all the napping I have to do, it might take me a little longer than I expected, but I DO promise to stop by and visit all the nice doggies who have sent me such wonderful cards!

Thanks again!

More issues

Well, the whiny sissy pathetic boy now has another "issue."

Here he is on the couch. He has been itching and scratching lately. Apparently he has licked a spot raw on the inside of his back left leg. So the big baby has a bandage wrapped around it so he'll quite biting and licking it. Now, the big sissy pathetic boy has developed a "poor me" limp because of his bandage, as if there was actually something WRONG with his leg.

Mom used the clippers to shave the spot and then clean it up and put some cortisone cream on it. While she was doing that, you would think she was actually trying to cut his leg off with all the growling and screaming going on. Good Lord, he is SOOO dramatic!

And it's all mom's fault. Samuel, aka whiny sissy pathetic boy, is allergic to EVERYTHING! He has a special duck and potato food that he has to eat because of these stupid allergies. Mom gives him treats (actually he demands them by annoyingly barking at her till she gets irritated and just gives in to him) way too much, but they didn't really cause any problems...........until now.

See, she changed treats. Last time she was at the pet grocery store, she bought a different kind, just to try. (meaning they were on sale) Well, apparently they weren't sitting very well with allergy boy, and now he has itchy scratchy skin. Once mom figured out that the only change (since it's not fleas as dad suggested) was the different treats, she immediately stopped giving them to him. That's when she noticed the raw spot on his leg, which has led to this post about one more issue from this poor pathetic husky. I wonder what will be next?

Luckily, I did get some nice hugs from mom when she was sitting on the couch (in Sam's spot) and I decided I wanted to snuggle. Dad thought I looked so adorably cute that he took this picture!
And then later, I got to snuggle with dad in the same spot (it's always important for me to keep Sam off my couch).
So, even though we started out talking about "him", we end with me! Just where we should.

This poor baby

My mom was reading her Sibernet mail, and there was the saddest story about a Siberian Husky who had a big chunk missing from his back. He was apparently attacked by some wild animal and part of his spine was even showing!

Mom went to the gimpy dogs blog to read about him. His name is Bear, and he has the saddest look I have ever seen. There are some pretty graphic pictures of his wounds there too. When my mom saw them, she was shocked, and those wet things started coming from her eyes. She couldn't believe Bear was still alive, or even able to walk after she saw the pictures.

Good news is, the vet was able to close his terrible wound! (I have no idea how, considering the size) But, he still needs lots more medical care. And he also needs help with his vet bills.
So, if any dog (or human) out there who is reading this, can go the the gimpy dogs blog and write down the information to help Bear, I'm sure he would be most grateful! I am having my human send some money. She's very good about supporting animals in need! Every little bit will help this poor baby! If we lived closer, and were allowed to have one more dog, we would probably have a new sibling coming home as soon as he healed!

Since we didn't get any snow.....

Since all the nice, fluffy snow went southeast of us into Missouri by Tubey's house, I am pouting.

Therefore, in support of the Ao4 and their cute poses, here are a couple of me and Abby with our cute poses. This is the step into the kitchen from the family (aka "doggie") room.

Later, at dinner time, (you will all be so proud of me), I had mom feeding ME with the SPOON!

HAAAA!!! I have her trained! Now, mind you, I had already eaten all my food, so none of that "waiting to be fed" crap. She was feeding the sissy pathetic boy, but I wanted more food (darn diet) so as I was sitting there, using the sad pathetic eyes, she actually gave me a bite with the spoon and I ate it. The she would feed sissy pathetic boy a few bites, then ME, then sissy pathetic boy, then ME! And back and forth this went until all the food was gone.

After that, because mom was so excited that I was "talented" enough to use the spoon, I got this...

Yep, that's a stuffy that looks just like me! Or Sam, whichever, since we look kinda similar. Mom found it tonight at Target in the doggie toy section. Best of all, it squeaks! I wasn't allowed to gut it and chew up the squeaky though. Mom took it away from me so I wouldn't destroy it right away.

So, it was quite a productive evening for me, even though we don't have any snow to play in, and I didn't get to gut the stuffy.
